John Tajima & Tobi Lütke have written a new log tool called Clarity. It provides a web interface similar to Splunk and allows you to easily search through your log files, even if they’re huge files. You can start Clarity with a single command and start inspecting any directory of log files.
Restfulie is a library that allows you to consume and produce RESTful web services. Restfulie allows you to specify the URLs of your objects' related resources.
Bluepill is a new process monitoring tool written by Rohith Ravi, Gary Tsang, and Arya Asemanfar. Bluepill comes in the form of a gem, and allows you pretty fine tuned control in the form of a DSL.
Forking a gem and publishing it can be a tedious process. Dr. Nic has outlined how to quickly find the source code for a gem, fork it, and publish it.
