JQTouch Meets Rails

Just in time to pique people's interest in the upcoming iPad, Ryan Bates has released a screencast on tailoring your ruby application content based on the UserAgent, using the JQTouch plugin for JQuery to build a web app with a native iPhone look and feel. In a similar space, the PhoneGap project provides a javascript abstraction layer on the platform-specific features across several mobile device types.
